The Power of Story: The Advocate

John 16:7-14

Please join us at 8:30 a.m. in the Chapel with Communion or at 10:55 a.m. in the Sanctuary.  The Rev. Robert Shettler will be preaching. Nursery care is available from 9:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. for families attending worship.

Road Closure Reminder: The “Five Points of Life” Marathon will be held this Sunday, February 18. Please know that traffic will be restricted from downtown to UF, especially on 2nd Avenue and 6th Street. You will need to adjust your normal travel route and/or time to and from the church. To find out how the race route will impact your drive, visit http://www.fivepointsoflife.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/v3_2017-FPOL-Race-Weekend-Map.pdf found on their webpage under “Marathon, Half-Marathon and Relay” and “Course Time Limit.”

Lenten Readings: We are recommending two options for you to draw closer to God in the Lenten season. The first comes from the Book of Common Worship. The Daily Lectionary includes morning readings from the Psalms and evening readings from the prophets and the New Testament. To access this list, click here. The second option is the book Day by Day: A 40-Day Journey with the Daily Office. Pete Scazzero, author of Emotionally Healthy Spirituality, promotes the importance of intentionally stopping to be with God more than once a day. The book is available in the church office for $9.99 or the Kindle version is also $9.99.

The television broadcast of our worship service will be on a one week delay each Sunday from 10-11 a.m. on WMYG Cox Channel 11, part of the GTN family of affiliates.
